Welcome to my cruelty free home!
Above is a video I did featuring cruelty free products I like to use around the house and on myself. I don’t think cruelty free should only apply to only beauty products, your whole house could embrace this kind lifestyle!
So in the same order as my videos, here is what can be currently found in my home!
Monte bianco tooth brush
£4.75 for toothbrush with two heads,£4.50 with 3 set of replacements
is a range of Eco Friendly Dental Care with toothbrushes and replaceable heads where there is no need to replace your entire toothbrush when the bristles wear out. This helps to minimize the number of plastics you throw away. You buy one set of toothbrush with a reusable handle and then you can buy replacement sets of 3 after that. They come in hard, medium and soft but dentists recommend soft so I have swapped to the soft one recently which is the green nylon bristle heads. The entire toothbrush is also 100% biodegradable. Make sure you get the NYLON ones if you want vegan materials or else the NATURAL ones are actually made of pig hair (what!?) I thought I would stick around with this one but now that I know that they sell pig hair bristles, I would rather go for a brand thats 100% vegan. Still, this was good while it lasted. See how important it is to do your research?
Kingfisher toothpaste in bicarb soda
Not tested on animals, Gluten free and GM free. Vegan
No artificial flavourings, colourings, preservatives or whiteners. Kingfisher toothpaste is approved by the British Dental Health Foundation.
This is a vegan toothpaste and comes in 8 different varieties. Children’s strawberry (fluoride free), Fennel (with or without fluoride), Mint (with or without fluoride), Aloe Vera (fluoride free), Tea Tree (fluoride free), Baking soda (fluoride free) with mint being my favorite. My husband still has a fear of cruelty free stuff not being as good so he recently ended up being persuaded by the dentist to purchase sensodyne tooth paste (not cf) but sometimes I just have to let it go and try again without being too cruelty free police on him! This has served me very well. It does take a little getting used to at first because you might have a flavor you have been used to but I don’t find these sort natural tooth pastes strange, in fact I really enjoy it!
Ingredients: Glycerin, sodium bicarbonate, aqua, calcium carbonate, sodium lauryl sulfate (natual ore), cellulose gum, mentha piperita (peppermint), mentha viridis (spearmint), limonene.

This is an absolutely lovely handwash. I only started using this recently and it smells just like what they say is in the bottle! It makes 100% of the smell on your hands go away and if you have a hand full of makeup after applying foundation with your hands, that all comes off too. yay!
handle made of recycled yogurt cups comes with two replacement blades. Titanium-covered blades feature a Vitamin E and aloe lubrication strip for added comfort. The lubricant strip is vegan and gluten free. You can purchase replacement blades in a set of 3. I am not 100% sold on this, I am definitely sticking to this because its environmentally friendly and its cruelty free but I won’t lie, I miss my Gillette Venus abit. Full review to come.

Weleda creamy citrus body wash
It turns out they sell their products in China so I will be 200% discontiuing purchasing their products. This is why I am so glad I started blogging, I end up doing more research than I ever have before and I didn’t realize until I was looking for more information that Weleda is selling in China. Really annoying but I had only bought two body washes from them so I wont miss them at all!
Lernberger Stafsing Colored Hair Shampoo
Great shampoo, not much else to say apart from that. This is a swedish company with excellent customer service! I know it is cruelty free from my correspondence with them but I have to look into ingredients to figure out if this is a vegan product or not.

Lernberger Stafsing Primer

Recommended for all hair types. I have been using this for a few weeks now and is really great to prep your hair for heat products like your blow dryer and hair straighteners. I would never apply heat on my hair without protecting it first and this does a wonderful job and leaves a nice healthy shine behind. I have to check ingredients if they are vegan but after contacting them I have come to the conclusion that they are a cruelty free brand.

Love&Toast clementine crush body lotion
No parabens, phthalates, petrolatum, mineral oil, propylene glycol, retinol, sulfates, or synthetic color. Never animal tested, no animal ingredients.
Smells good, absorbs pretty well but it takes a little while for the cream to fade into your skin. I am going to be honest, I hardly use body lotion. I only use it after I shave but I bought this because I enjoyed their customer service (after asking them about animal testing) and thought the packaging was very cute. I still have so much product to use because of my neglectful skincare but I like this brand a lot.

Ecover dishwashing tablets and rinse aid
(not entirely CF)
Both are vegan but I do not consider this company completely cruelty free. Here is why down below:
My trouble with Ecover:
While getting this video ready, I found out that my trusted Ecover products might not be as cruelty free as I had hoped they would be. All I had to do was enter “Ecover animal testing” and I got lots of matches on how Ecover uses Daphnia (water fleas) to test their effect on aquatic life and how they may have (allegedly) used rabbit blood from farmed bunnies to test for removing tough stains. Thats not the only thing, they allegedly refused to sign something called the House Hold Product Standard. This is the globally run certification scheme that guarantees that neither a finished product nor its ingredients have been tested on animals.
I have sent them an e-mail and gotten positive responses, I have 8 standard questions I ask that I have borrowed from humanely chic (okay stole, though I told her that I use her questions as it is because they are SO good) but they left out the Daphnia and the rabbit blood story (well why would they mention it right!) so I went ahead and asked them about 4 questions after that on the rabbit blood rumor and some clarification about their current certification with leaping bunny and if they do still test on daphnias (water fleas) and whats their reasoning behind it. Sorry Ecover but rumors don’t start from nowhere and I just don’t know if I trust you 100%.
So my channel is going to continue to be about cruelty free beauty products (skin, hair and makeup) but I hope this inspires you to try some eco friendly, vegan or cruelty free products for the home! There are lots of awesome companies out there and there is nothing like feeling good about your impact on the environment and saying no to animal testing in all areas of your life.
Companies I am now avoiding: Ecover, Weleda and Monte Bianco brushes (only because I dont like that they sell pig hair bristles)
